My cell phone does not seem to be charging while hooked up to the Turbo Charge

Your phone's charge/battery indicator should be animated, flashing or blinking to indicate it is charging (same as if you plugged your phone into your standard AC / wall / car charger.) The Turbo Charge will work best if you turn your phone or device OFF while charging.  If your device is still not showing any sign of charging, try Lithium AA batteries in the Turbo Charge for a more powerful charge.

If your phone's battery indicator is NOT flashing, make sure the blue light(s) are illuminated on the Turbo Charge unit (indicating it is functioning). If the blue lights are not on, make sure there are fresh batteries in the Turbo Charge and that they are inserted in the proper orientation as indicated on the charger.  If none of these steps help, please contact our customer service department: customer.service@adrenalinetechnologies.com

New phone models are always being released and require new types of adapter plugs. Since we are unable to change what was already packaged with the Turbo Charge at the time of production, we offer new types of adapters and up-to-date compatibililty charts here on our website. Please visit our adapters page.

I don't see my phone model listed on your adapter compatibility charts

You can start by going to our adapter page and clicking on the brand phone you have. Next, if you look at the plug from your wall charger (the original OEM charger that came with your phone), you should be able to match the plug to one of the adapter photos on our adapter page. If it looks the same, that is the plug that you need. If you still need help in determining which adapter you need, please e-mail customer.service@adrenalinetechnologies.com

The TurboCharge becomes very warm when I power my phone.

It is normal for the unit to become warm while charging/powering a cell phone. The Turbo Charge is designed to provide a lot of power in a short period of time. AA batteries generate heat when providing power. The faster the power is drained from a “AA” battery the more heat it will produce. The rate at which the unit draws power from “AA” batteries is within the specified limits of “AA” batteries. The unit has been tested under various conditions and with various batteries.

The instructions say that the blue light will stay on while charging my phone but it is flashing.

With certain phone models the blue light will flash. If your phone shows that it is charging then there is nothing to worry about. The Turbo Charge is functioning properly.

The adapter that I am using is loose or does not fit into my phone.

There are many adapters that look the same but vary slightly. Please refer to the compatibility section of the web site. DO NOT force the adapter into your phone. If you do you may damage your phone.

The adapter that is supposed to fit in my phone looks different then the adapter of the charger included with my phone.

Some phones have two places that the phone can charge from. In most cases the adapters included with the TurboCharge fit in the bottom of your phone. (See next question)

I found the right adapter but I don't see any place to plug it into my phone.

In most cases the adapter plugs into the bottom of your phone. Some manufacturers include a piece of rubber that covers the connecter that the adapter goes into. Refer to your phones user manual for proper removal.

I have an older (3+ Years) phone and it is not listed on the compatibility sheet.

Please e-mail customer.service@adrenalinetechnologies.com to determine which adapter you may need.

How do I plug the adapter into my phone?

There is an arrow on one side of the adapter. Please face the arrow up towards the phones keypad and reinsert the adapter. Pin type adapters (Kyocera, Nokia) plug into your phone just like your home charger.

I cannot remove the adapter from my phone.

On some adapters there are buttons on the side. Simply squeeze the buttons and very gently pull the adapter straight out. DO NOT force it as you risk damaging the adapter and your phone

The blue light did not turn on when I plugged the Turbo Charge into my phone.

Remove the adapter from your phone and unplug it from the Turbo Charge. Replace the battery with a fresh AA battery. Plug the adapter back into the Turbo Charge and plug it back into the phone. If this fails please order a new adapter from the replacement adapter section of our web site.

I used the Turbo Charge and now my phone is not responding/the screen is blank.

Remove the battery from the back of your phone. Wait 30 seconds and reinsert the battery. This will reset your cell phone.

I charged my phone for 15 minutes and I don't see any difference in the number of bars on the battery indicator.

It takes 30-45 minutes to receive the optimal effect from the Turbo Charge. For best results you should power your phone off when charging. In addition, you should disconnect the Turbo Charge as soon as possible when the blue light(s) goes out. It is ok to replace the battery in the unit after a charge and charge it again immediately. Also remember that the single-battery unit (TC1 / TC400) is not designed to be a replacement to your usual phone charger but an emergency supplement.

I used the single-battery Turbo Charge on my phone with only 1 bar remaining and I still only have 1 bar.

This is normal. In many cases if you charge the phone when it has one bar, the power is at the 'bottom' of the bar. The Turbo Charge increased the battery indicator from one 'low bar' to one 'full bar'. The single-battery Turbo Charge is not designed to provide a full charge to a dead cell phone battery with one “AA” battery. The single-battery Turbo Charge (TC1 / TC400) is intended as an EMERGENCY DEVICE.

The TC1 / TC400 is primarily intended to provide instant power for a cell phone. It is recommended as a battery extender. If your phone is on the last bar of battery power and you will be placing a call you should plug the unit into the phone and make your call while the unit is plugged in. During the call the unit will provide the power necessary to make the call without further depleting your battery. Using it in this manner will provide the power needed to make all the calls until you can charge your phone with your home charger or car charger.

I charged my phone with one bar and it does not show full.

If you wish to charge your phone it is recommended that you use the TurboCharge when your phone has at least one bar of battery remaining. As the battery in your phone becomes lower it requires more power to charge the battery. If your phone shows no bars of power remaining it will take much more power to increase the battery indicator by 1 bar then it would to increase by 1 bar if you have 3 bars.

I charged my phone and shortly after unplugging the Turbo Charge the battery indicator went down.

It is normal for a phone to show a higher number of bars immediately after a charge. When you charge a battery it will have a higher voltage immediately after a charge. This voltage normally drops after the charger is removed and the bar indicator will go down. This same thing will happen with your home charger if you plug it in for a short period of time .

I used the Turbo Charge with my smart phone/PDA phone (Treo, Blackberry) and I don't see any difference in the battery indicator.

Smart phones have very high energy demand and have very high capacity batteries. As a result the shot of power from the Turbo Charge is only a small fraction of the total power contained in your phone battery. We recommend using rechargeable Nickel Metal Hydride batteries or lithium batteries with your Turbo Charge when using with smart phones.

Is Turbo Charge reusable?

Yes the Turbo Charge is reusable.  When the blue light becomes dim or goes out (single-battery charger) or the battery indicator drops from three lights to one or zero (2-battery charger), simply replace the "AA" batteries. Your Turbo Charge will be ready to use the next time you need it.

I bought a Turbo Charge in a store but the adaper did not fit my phone.

Do not return your Turbo Charge to the store. Go to http://www.adrenalinetechnologies.com/properadapter, as you are entitled to one free phone adapter free of charge (shipping & handling applies). Offer does not apply to Apple, MP3 or Gaming adapters. Additional adapters extra.

Can I use a NiMh (Nickel Metal Hydride) rechargeable AA batteries with the Turbo Charge?

Yes, this will provide for a true re-usable, portable charger. However, not all rechargeable batteries will fit in the TC1 / TC400 single-battery charger.

My Turbo Charge is not working with my iPhone 3G / 3GS or iPod Touch 2G / 3G

Our single-battery chargers (TC1 / TC200 / TC400) are not compatible with the iPhone.

2-Battery Chargers (TC2):
• Connect the Turbo Charge to your iPod/iPhone and switch it on.
If the battery symbol in the upper right hand corner of your iPod/iPhone changes and contains a 'lightning bolt' symbol, your charger is working properly. Leave it plugged in until all 3 lights on the Turbo Charge have gone out. As soon as all 3 lights distinguish, you must shut the charger off and replace the batteries to continue charging further. Lithium AA batteries (highly recommended) will provide about 100% charge. NiMH Rechargeable AA batteries will provide about 60% additional charge and standard Alkaline AA batteries will provide about 20% additional charge.
(Tip: the iPhone 3GS features a battery percentage meter which can be turned on by tapping Settings > General > Usage)

• If the battery symbol on your iPod/iPhone does not change to indicate charging or it flashes erratically, it is likely you have an older version of the Turbo Charge that is incompatible with the newer generation iPod/iPhones. You may exchange the unit with us for an updated model once we receive the old unit in working condition.

Please e-mail us: •  The model charger you purchased (TB550 / TBA650 / TBP950 / TBM1050 / TBE1150)
  •  Where you had purchased the charger and
  •  What model iPod or iPhone you own and the generation, if known (iPhone 3G/3GS, iPod Touch 1G/2G/3G, etc).

(Please note, our new Slimm Lithium-Ion Rechargeable Charger (SL827) and iPWR (IP500) are also compatible with the iPhone 3G/S and iPod 2G/3G.)

My Turbo Charge will only deliver a small amount of charge to my phone

If you are using alkaline AA batteries and they do not provide much charge to your phone, we highly recommend using Lithium AA batteries which are up to 10x more powerful and can deliver a more complete charge compared to regular alkaline batteries.
